This site represents a point of view over the disputed Dacian lead texts archive, considered by some historians to be a forgery. The subject of these lead plates was practically ignored for a century. The only current publications that represent a contribution to this subject are: the book of Dan Romalo published in 2003 and re-edited in 2005 under Alcor Publishing House in Bucharest and "Tezaurul dacic de la Sinaia" by Dumitru Manolache, published in 2006 under Dacica Publishing House. We owe to Dan Romalo the discovery, salvation and photo records of many of the plates that have been lost, as well as the first written translation, analysis and methodic rendering.

The Dacica Library represents a pioneer attempt as it is the first and only web site that scientifically approaches this subject. Its purpose is to make this corpus known to the public and to attract as many specialists as possible in the debate regarding the authenticity of the records. Given the magnitude and complexity that surrounds the subject, we chose to discuss only a few aspects that are relevant for this debate, with an emphasis on linguistic analysis. You will not find translations of the inscriptions here. The materials found here represent the basis of an ample monograph to be published in the future.

The absence of any valid proof of a forgery, the impossibility to identify the author of the forgery and its purpose – moreover the dazzling complexity of these artifacts, filled with elements that were not accessible to a nineteenth century forger – form the first arguments in favor of the authenticity claim. We are still waiting for solid arguments, from scientists that uphold the forgery hypothesis, which will establish who, when and with what purpose the plates were created.
